Key Responsibilities:
- Resident Care: Deliver high-standard, evidence-based care to residents, focusing on holistic care within a homelike environment. Assist in planning, implementing, and evaluating individualized care plans, ensuring dignity and respect are upheld.
- Clinical Support: Assist medical staff with treatments, accompany residents to appointments, and support the safe distribution of meals and medications.
- Compliance and Safety: Adhere to all Health & Safety regulations, ensuring a hazard-free environment. Maintain confidentiality and follow all emergency procedures.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with other care assistants and healthcare professionals, fostering a supportive and motivated team environment. Contribute to team meetings and service evaluations.
- Training and Development: Take responsibility for your own professional development by participating in mandatory training and ongoing education. Assist in the induction and training of new staff members.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and detailed records of care provided, ensuring compliance with all relevant standards and procedures.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Experience: Proven experience in elderly care and dementia care, with a focus on person-centred care.
- Communication: Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
- Attention to Detail: High attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Commitment: Demonstrate a strong work ethic and a commitment to achieving high-quality care outcomes.
- Essential Criteria: Excellent spoken English and relevant qualifications such as Fetac/QQI L5, Nursing, or equivalent.
